Animal Success Stories
Here are just a few of the many happy endings for some of our past shelter residents. If you've adopted or rescued a Grayson County Humane Society animal and you'd like to share your "tale" with us, please do so by sending us an email at dwhite@aggressiveonline.net. We LOVE to hear how our furry friends are doing in their new lives.

Elphaba
Elphaba went to her new barn home on October 2nd, 2009. It's a managed cat colony where many successful placements have been made in the past. Best wishes go to Elphaba for a long and happy life.
Elyssa
According to the rescue that took in Elyssa, the family that adopted her first saw her Tuesday night went they came in with another dog's foster to pick her up after vetting. It was love at first sight. They were then camped out at the rescue at 9AM on Thursday (note that we open for the public at 12:00PM on Thursdays!!) as they were not taking ANY chances that they might miss adopting her! What a GOOD match. They have a horse farm, and once Elyssa is settled, they'd like to adopt another dog as a playmate for her. Really nice people - they even brought coffee and donuts!
Etienne
From Etienne's wonderful rescuer: "I recently heard from Etienne's (now Silas') mom and he's doing well. After Henri (Shane) passed away, she eventually adopted a young adult cat locally so Silas wouldn't be alone." We're SOOO glad to hear that this once-little guy is doing good and that he has a new friend to play with.
Ebbie
We adopted Ebbie, now named Abbie one week ago. She was brought in to a local rescue group from Kentucky just one day prior. Still grieving over the loss of our cat several days after Christmas, we were skeptical whether we could find a place in our hearts to love another animal. Abbie was two-years-old and I have never adopted a pet at this age, only kittens. Abbie was homeless, but she has adapted very well to her new home here and she has definitely become the center of our lives. Nothing can replace the loss of our previous cat, but Abbie has helped filled a void. She has had to learn how to play and use a scratching post. She acts just like a kitten and she is precious, very loving and gentle. She is so wonderful and we would recommend adopting an older pet to anyone! Attached is a photo of our newest member of the family. Thank you to Grayson Humane.
